In 2016, Ross was inducted into the Calgary Business Hall of Fame.  Mr. Glen demonstrates a strong commitment to the city, Province and Country that he proudly calls home. He stated, “Calgary has always been our town. I’m a local guy, we started RGO 50 years ago and we’ve done a lot of good things for the city. But we’ve always been interested in supporting health and education and theatre, those are our big focuses. We do our share to make things better for people and I think that’s important.”   Ross was appointed in 2020 to the Order of Canada, signifying Canada recognizing and honoring his extraordinary contributions to the nation. The evaluation criteria for this esteemed honor included achievement, dedication to community, and service to the Nation, under the recognition category of philanthropy and entrepreneurship.

An avid sports enthusiast, Ross was rarely missing from a Stampeders or Flames game, showcasing his unwavering support for his favorite teams. His passion for sports was evident to all who knew him, as he eagerly attended games and cheered for his teams with unmatched enthusiasm. His absence will be deeply felt by fellow fans and friends alike.

Ross was a cherished and constant presence in the RGO office, deeply involved in numerous projects. He was often seen walking through the office, checking in on his people, offering his guidance, and sharing his vision for the company’s future. His hands-on leadership style and approachable demeanor created an environment of collaboration and dedication that will be profoundly missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing and working with him. Ross was not just a leader but a mentor and a friend to many, his warmth and genuine care for his employees were evident in every interaction. His legacy will continue through his family members who are actively involved in the business: Cathy Orr, President & CEO; Debbie Will, Shareholder; Dave Orr, Vice President of Furniture; Cassandra Baker, Furniture Workplace Consultant; and Sarah Klemenz, Account Manager Technologies.
